A Mansion to say the least. The project involved the demolition of the existing dwelling and preparation of the site for the construction of a new dwelling which stands today a proud home of a very satisfied client.
The project was a challenge starting with the massive rock excavation to create a spacious basement containing a garage, gym and a wine cellar. Moving into the erection of a double brick structure that was designed to hold over 20 tonnes of steel to accommodate all the massive openings and the suspended soffits over the balconies and courtyards.
The finishes are not short of luxurious and some of the features are state of the art from floor heating to electric blinds and a kitchen featuring a commercial rangehood standard.
“My initial reason for choosing TMD was their engineering background (there were geotechnical, building and hydraulic issues) and being a hands- on type of person, they were willing to accept that I wanted to be involved with all aspects of construction.
Having now lived in my new home for 3 years, I can truthfully say I cannot fault the building quality. I have not experienced any problems. The house has experienced a one in one hundred and a one in fifty year storm event and both occasions emerged waterproof and watertight.”
